I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Houston in 2025, specializing in American politics, political communication, and Latino politics.

My research examines political communication, media and politics, technology and politics, Congress, and Latino political representation. Drawing on my experience as a journalist, I am particularly interested in how media institutions and communication technologies shape political attention, representation, and behavior. My research has appeared in the American Political Science Review, and I am the co-author of Shifting Allegiances: The Election of Latino Republicans to Congress and State Legislatures, published by Cambridge University Press.
