Thank you for visiting my website. I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University. My research focuses on political communication, with interests in media effects, political behavior, media polarization, and Latino politics.
My dissertation examined the causes and consequences of differential media coverage, focusing on ideological extremity as a predictor of the news coverage received by members of Congress.
I received my B.A. in Journalism from the University of Houston and worked as a journalist for several years before completing my M.L.A. in Political Science at the University of St. Thomas.
